LINK Food Program
Supplying emergency food to people within the Herndon, Sterling, and Ashburn, Virginia communities is the primary mission of LINK. LINK provides food to approximately 75 families per month. Those requesting emergency food call the LINK phone line and a coordinator calls back. For those who are qualified, a delivery is scheduled Tuesday-Saturday and each family is given about five day’s supply of non-perishable food and a certificate to purchase perishable food per each request. LINK is unique in delivering food to the homes of clients.
LINK also makes food deliveries to other support organizations whenever possible, including the Embry Rucker Shelter, Good Shepherd Alliance Shelters, The Closet, Cascade Village, Herndon Harbor House, Kendrick Court, William Waters House, and the Herndon Neighborhood Resource Center.
He who is generous will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor.
During the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays, LINK provides food to many more families through the Holiday Program.
In 2016, LINK provided 894 deliveries to serve 3,642 people within the Herndon, Sterling, and Ashburn, Virginia communities.
