Need Emergency Food Support?
LINK provides food to families in and near the Herndon and Eastern Loudoun, Virginia communities to meet emergency needs. If you have an emergency food need, please
call LINK at 703-437-1776 and leave a message in the food mailbox.  If you qualify to receive food, you will be contacted by a LINK volunteer who will make a delivery of groceries to your home.

LINK Food Program
Supplying emergency food to local people in need is the primary ministry of LINK.  LINK provides food to approximately 50-60 families per month.  Each qualified family is given about five day’s supply of non-perishable food and a certificate to purchase perishable food per each request.

LINK also makes food deliveries to other support organizations whenever possible, including the Embry Rucker Shelter, Good Shepherd Alliance Shelters, The Closet, William Waters House, and the Herndon Neighborhood Resource Center.

LINK provides food to many more families through the Holiday Basket Programs detailed below.

Holiday Basket Programs
In addition to LINK's regular food program, a large number of people receive holiday boxes (food, coats, toys) during the Thanksgiving and Christmas period.  For details, click here Holiday Food Basket Program.

Donate Food
The food LINK provides comes from three main sources:

1.       Collections from LINK member churches (non-perishables)

2.       Donations from local groceries and bakeries (perishables)

3.       Donations from community groups (i.e. Scouting for Food, public schools, community businesses, and individual local residents)

If you or your organization would like to make food donations to LINK, please contact LINK for directions and times of the LINK pantry for drop-off. Suggested non-perishable food items regularly needed include: Canned Meats, Spaghetti Sauce, Canned Fruits, Flour, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Cereal, Rice, Canned Vegetables, Canned Meats, Spaghetti, Macaroni, Canned Juices, Canned or Powdered Milk, Soups, and Tuna.  In addition, paper products such as toilet paper and personal hygiene products such as toothpaste and soap are always needed.

Monetary donations are also welcome!  LINK participates in the Combined Federal Campaign and the United Way of Virginia Campaign.  LINK's donation identification number for these campaigns is 8442.
