They waited patiently..... They waited patiently....On Saturday, November 19, 2011, The LINK Holiday Food Basket Program distributed food and winter coats, hats and gloves at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Christ The Redeemer Catholic Church, and Sterling United Methodist Church.
They checked in.....881 families, approximately 4.500 individuals registered. This represents a 24% increase over 2010.
They made their selections.....
Working their way around the "grocery store", clients selected from a variety of food items. The food was donated by Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Loudoun and Fairfax County Schools, Churches, and too many businesses to mention individually.
They departed in a spirit of love and thankfullness.....
Each family received a 5-7 day supply of food and grocery store certificates with which to purchase perishable items.
The "good and faithful servants"worked joyfully....
Volunteers signed up to help sort food, escort clients, act as interpreters, load food into vehicles, deliver to homebound clients, and clean up afterwards.
He died for us....And all He asks in return is that we love and care for our neighbors with our time, talent, and treasure.
LINK needs your help....We'll do it all again in December. To volunteer to help, visit www.SignUpGenius.com/LINK13/993582.
