Holiday Basket Programs
In addition to LINK's regular food program, a large number of people
receive holiday boxes (food, coats, toys) during the Thanksgiving and
Christmas period.
Each Thanksgiving
season, LINK coordinates a Holiday Basket Program that enables qualified
families to browse through food items organized and displayed at a local
church, and select items to prepare a special holiday meal and a number
of additional meals. A food certificate is included in the Holiday
Basket to purchase perishable foods. Winter coats are also collected and
distributed to eligible families.
Each Christmas season, LINK prepares food boxes similar to those at
Thanksgiving for people in need. This requires additional volunteers to
support the Christmas Holiday Basket event. In addition to food, if they
are available, gifts/toys will be distributed for our registered food
recipients only.
